Any easy data driven models like from a table of your devices? yEd looks like a winner, free for any purpose, download and run local www.yworks.com/products/yed
Seems like everything most options are cloud based with a monthly fee.
Props for asciiflow, just sketch some simple stuff and paste it into notepad. No account, no BS. asciiflow.com
One free local install is Network Notepad, but the free version is rudimentary. www.networknotepad.com/download.shtml
For online: Creatly, SmartDraw and Lucid show up often on lists.
